Belonging to the Citrus Grandis family, the Israeli variety of the Pomelo is a distinctively large fruit, characterized by large juice saccules, very thick peel, sweet pulp and distinctive aroma. The Pomelo is harvested between mid-October and mid-May.
A smoother and thinner-skinned variety, the Red Pomelo is juicy and compact with pink pulp and a slightly more compressed shape. The Israeli-grown Red Pomelo ripens between September and January.
